We need you! Join us to help protect and preserve local equestrian trails; every rider’s involvement helps to keep trails open and preserve the equestrian history in the area. In the past 40+ years, we have:
-
Partnered with WVWA to fund a new bridge in Briar Hill Preserve allowing safe pedestrian/equine crossings and preserving the environment.
-
Completed a trail map by working with the WVWA and Lower Gwynedd Township so equestrians can follow trails and first responders can locate riders in emergencies.
-
Actively cleared, marked, and maintained trails to protect access for all equestrians.
-
Secured easements and land-owner permissions allowing a rider to travel from Upper Gwynedd to Willow Lake; negotiated with townships to create easements on newly submitted subdivisions to allow for continued equestrian access to trails.
-
Supported open space planning and preservation by working with area townships and the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (http://www.wvwa.org).
-
Partnered with local townships to address trail issues and create ordinances that protect riders.
-
Participated in community events, promoting positive relationships between horse and property owners.
-
Sponsored events and educated our members on horse safety and care.
-
And we trail ride together, enjoying the spectacular open spaces we help preserve!
